Commissions

I am available for illustration and commissioned work, so feel free to contact me and we can discuss options. To purchase existing artwork, check out the sales page.

Commission notes:

Unless instructed otherwise, commissioned paintings will be 22" x 28" and made with acrylic on stretched canvas. They will be unframed, but the edges will be painted. This means all paintings will be ready for display upon completion.

The normal price for a commissioned painting is $300. Requests with multiple figures or overly complex designs will cause the price to increase.

For drawings, I work with a range of media, including colored pencil, soft pastels, India ink and charcoal. Pricing depends on the size of the piece and medium chosen. Pricing for drawing generally ranges from $300 to $500 for involved art pieces and from $50 to $150 on simpler pieces such as character sketches or caricatures.

Prices for drawings will not include framing, but they can be matted if requested.

Once commissioned, I will provide you with sketches for the idea and work with you to develop the piece. Photos or scans of the piece in progress will be provided for review periodically.

At least 50% of the payment will be required before the final piece goes into production. Each commission is a large time commitment and to put all the work into a piece only to have someone refuse to pay is the same as a loss for me. I'm trying to make a living off this, y'know. For complex commissions requiring research and large amounts of sketching, a small commitment fee may be involved. A final piece will not be delivered until the full payment has arrived.

Those purchasing artwork will be required to sign a standard agreement regarding copyright and intellectual property. If you want to know more about this, contact me.

Remember, if you're commissioning me, it's because you like my style! I am certainly skilled enough to create mimetic, realistic pieces, but what I am selling is my unique stylistic approach to these projects.
